Forest for Mongolia

Mongolian students will come to the Czech Republic to study forestry

Mendel University has succeeded in a grant competition for projects on internationalisation of universities. During 2019-2020, the first 10 Mongolian students will study at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology.

The efforts of the Expedition Mongolia team and the international department of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology (LDF) paid off. The Erasmus+ project for the exchange of students and academics between LDF and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences has been given the green light by the Czech Republic and the EU. The Czech Republic has long sought to revitalise the forestry sector in Mongolia. Educating young talented students is crucial to ensure that Mongolian forests are managed according to sustainable development principles. The project also includes an inter-university exchange of experts.

We are only at the beginning in our efforts to help Mongolia and Mongolian forests in the long term. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but it is worth it!
