Are we looking forward to a better tomorrow? Looking back on this year in Mongolia, it seems that almost everything we set out to do has been successful.

Our autumn field trip in the STREAM project is behind us. And what did we accomplish?

This year's STREAM project summer trip is over! The month in Mongolia passed in no time and in addition to continuing the work started, it also brought several new activities.

The autumn trip of the STREAM project in 2022 was a demonstration of sustainable forest management. But it also included the first meeting of our university consortium in Mongolia.

The 2022 summer field trip of the STREAM project provided the first information about the forests in the project sites. Scientific and inventory activities were supplemented with lectures and preparation of fencerows for autumn planting.

In the spring of 2019 we went to Mongolia as part of the Erasmus+ project to teach at the Mongolian University of Life Sciences. Both in the classroom and especially in the field. In addition, we also managed lectures with local experts.

As part of the Forestry and Landscape Education Course in Mongolia, we conducted a field trip in the summer of 2019. During this trip, we attended a series of lectures and field training with students and academics from the Mongolian University of Life Sciences and the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology on the basics of forestry practice.

In the course of the expert project, two missions of Czech experts were carried out; the first in the summer of 2019 and the second in the winter of 2021, during which a series of lectures and field trips were held.

The summer 2022 STREAM trip provided the first information about the forests in the project sites. Scientific and inventory activities were supplemented with lectures and preparation of fencerows for autumn planting.

During our first trip we met with the Czech Ambassador to Mongolia Jan Vytopil to introduce the STREAM project and discuss further cooperation.

In November 2021, we went to Mongolia to address the preparation of the STREAM project, during which we toured proposed sites on the edge of the Khentii Mountains and selected the most suitable forest stands to implement to demonstrate good forestry practices.

MENDELU researchers set out to save the forests of frozen Mongolia. The trip was made mainly to pre-select suitable areas for the STREAM project.

We regret to announce that this year's expedition will not take place. This is due to the current situation with the COVID 19 pandemic and the associated unfavourable entry conditions.

On 14 June 2021 the first meeting of all participants of this year's expedition took place. The meeting took place in sunny weather in Hady, where we had the opportunity to get to know each other and especially to learn more about the trip to Mongolia.

Our team of scientists leads an international university consortium in expert activities on sustainable management in the Mongolian landscape. With our years of experience and knowledge, we have the opportunity to support local forestry, which is at a low level in Mongolia. There is a shortage of experts in the field and the situation with forest loss and devastation is critical. The STREAM project, which is supported by the European Commission and other partners, started in May 2021 and has a budget...

Our research has also caught the attention of the general public.

Mendel University has succeeded in a grant competition for projects on internationalisation of universities. During 2019-2020, the first 10 Mongolian students will study at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology.

This year we are again building on the long-standing cooperation between Asolo and Expedition Mongolia.

On 11.5.2017 we received a delegation from Mongolia at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology.

An article from the Mongolia 2015 conference summarizes the history and current situation of deforestation in Mongolian forests.

The Eureka 2015 conference (third conference and working season) took place on 15 and 16 October, where we presented the research results from this year's Mongolia 2015 expedition.

Another successful expedition behind us! We brought not only ourselves, but especially a large amount of data, knowledge, unforgettable experiences and life experiences!

A travel-scientific lecture for one of our amazing sponsors - the company SENSIT - took place in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Thank you for your support and we look forward to any further cooperation!

The Mongolia 2015 conference took place on March 17, 2015. We thank all the speakers and listeners for the pleasant atmosphere, substantive questions and fruitful discussion.
