Team for the first tour complete!
16. 3. 2022
We are happy to announce that we are complete! Seven brave, adventurous, talented students have been selected for this year's first trip to the unexplored forested trails of northern Mongolia. We are going as follows : Ing. David Juřička, Ph.D., Bc. Václav Pecina, Ondřej Krutil, Daniel Janík, Petr Kvapil, Michal Krejzek, Martin Frnčo. This is the first trip to Mongolia for Ondřej, Daniel, Petr, Miša and Martin, we believe that the boys will enjoy the expedition and bring back a lot of unique, valuable data to contribute to the preservation of the disappearing Mongolia as we know it today.
This year we will be researching the successional stages of the larch monocenoses in relation to physical and chemical soil properties, and we will be mapping the condensation piles formed after pegmatite mining from a pedological perspective. We will work on the influence of cattle wintering sites in the Khentii Mountains on soil chemistry. We will be sampling for contamination around the areas of ore extraction. We will retrieve, download data and re-bury temperature sensors that have been measuring soil temperature on condensation piles and associated steppe in Mongolia for two years (by the hour).
