Forest for Mongolia

The first meeting of the participants of this year's expedition

16. 3. 2022

On 14 June 2021 the first meeting of all participants of this year's expedition took place. The meeting took place in sunny weather in Hady, where we had the opportunity to get to know each other and especially to learn more about the trip to Mongolia.

Our meeting started at 9 am at the school campus where we got to know each other and then headed to Hády. On arrival there was a talk by David, supplemented occasionally by Marek and Vašek, who gave us all some basic information about the trip. We discussed the Mongolia trip, the approximate date of which was set for 23/24 August - 19 September 2021. All relevant information and tasks were discussed, with David further specifying the research and focus of the work of each participant. This was followed by some valuable advice (more like commandments), such as to bring lots of onions, chocolate, vitamins, minerals, Bridgedale socks, a headlamp with (ideally rechargeable) batteries, a sleeping cap, a sleeping bag for freezing temperatures (ideally down to -7°C according to Mára), an inflatable car mattress, or 2 litres of max 50% slivovitz! Checking the validity of passports before departure was also strongly emphasized. We also agreed to make a trip to Hodonín in the next few days to a specialized shop where we can buy the necessary equipment for the field. After sunbathing in Hády we moved to a local in Líšeň, where we finally met the last of the participants - Honza Šebesta. After lunch we said goodbye in the afternoon.
