Forest for Mongolia
10. 2. 2023 In the course of the expert project, two missions of Czech experts were carried out; the first in the summer of 2019 and the second in the winter of 2021, during which a series of lectures and field trips were held. 23. 8. 2022 The summer 2022 STREAM trip provided the first information about the forests in the project sites. Scientific and inventory activities were supplemented with lectures and preparation of fencerows for autumn planting. 23. 8. 2022 During our first trip we met with the Czech Ambassador to Mongolia Jan Vytopil to introduce the STREAM project and discuss further cooperation. 16. 3. 2022 In November 2021, we went to Mongolia to address the preparation of the STREAM project, during which we toured proposed sites on the edge of the Khentii Mountains and selected the most suitable forest stands to implement to demonstrate good forestry practices. 16. 3. 2022 MENDELU researchers set out to save the forests of frozen Mongolia. The trip was made mainly to pre-select suitable areas for the STREAM project. 16. 3. 2022 We regret to announce that this year's expedition will not take place. This is due to the current situation with the COVID 19 pandemic and the associated unfavourable entry conditions. 16. 3. 2022 On 14 June 2021 the first meeting of all participants of this year's expedition took place. The meeting took place in sunny weather in Hady, where we had the opportunity to get to know each other and especially to learn more about the trip to Mongolia. 16. 3. 2022 Our team of scientists leads an international university consortium in expert activities on sustainable management in the Mongolian landscape. With our years of experience and knowledge, we have the opportunity to support local forestry, which is at a low level in Mongolia. There is a shortage of experts in the field and the situation with forest loss and devastation is critical. The STREAM project, which is supported by the European Commission and other partners, started in May 2021 and has a budget... 16. 3. 2022 Mendel University has succeeded in a grant competition for projects on internationalisation of universities. During 2019-2020, the first 10 Mongolian students will study at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology.Expert project
